The Author - Ian Simpkins
Ian started sailing dinghies in England and then on yachts in the Caribbean while he was working in the Cayman Islands prior to embarking on a professional career in the boating industry
Ian has been working in the boating industry in Australia and overseas for over 22 years. Ian has had a variety of roles, delivery skipper, charter yacht skipper, ferrymaster, sailing instructor, boatyard manager, rigger and yacht broker. During this time he gained a Yachtmaster Offshore Instructors certificate and held a Master Class 5 certificate.
In addition to extensive cruising overseas with friends Ian has raced and cruised his own boats on the Australian East Coast with his wife Christine.
